Abstract This module is a computer-based learning resource that describes the anatomical characteristics of adult human dentition.This resource uses a multimedia approach that the learner can use to study the anatomy of human adult dentition.This can be used by students to assist them in learning while faculty can use this as an additional resource to complement teaching dental anatomy.The resource provides bushranger awning photos of extracted tooth specimens and lists the anatomical details from five specific aspects: mesial, distal, facia, lingual and occlusal (incisal).The resource has an interface allowing the learner to easily navigate through the list of maxillary teeth and mandibular teeth.
It has an interactive feature that allows learners to rotate and magnify each tooth.Alongside with this features are the text descriptions of each aspect of the tooth that the learner can view and scroll through.For the past several years, the Dental Anatomy program of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry has utilized the paper-based format of teaching human adult dentition.This read more new learning resource is an advancement of the paper-based format where actual photos of tooth specimens instead of drawings are provided as examples.The interactivity that allow students to rotate and magnify these photos are added features that will make the learner experience much more enriching.
